Improving laboratory efficiency: Analytik Jena integrates SPECORD PLUS instruments into LMS environments
30.01.26
New UV/Vis software module for highly automated and contract laboratories
Analytik Jena, a Germany-based manufacturer of analytical instrumentation, now enables laboratories with a high degree of automation and large daily sample volumes to centralize and digitalize their UV/Vis measurement workflows. The latest update of the ASpect UV device software allows Analytik Jena’s SPECORD PLUS instruments to be controlled directly via an external Laboratory Management System (LMS).
With the new SOAP interface module in ASpect UV, methods can be created, measurements initiated, and results reported back to the LMS automatically. This fully integrates the SPECORD PLUS analyzer into the existing system landscape. Users can continue working within their familiar LMS environment without the need to learn separate instrument software, and measurements can be started from any location. All content and processes are consistently tracked, eliminating errors caused by manual data transfer between systems.
In addition, the current ASpect UV update offers extended functionality for kinetic measurements and significantly enhanced, formula-based data evaluation. With the new 21 CFR Part 11 compliance module, ASpect UV provides added value for regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, food, and beverages. Integration with the customer’s Active Directory user management removes the need to create and maintain separate user accounts and passwords for ASpect UV.
The SPECORD PLUS instruments by Analytik Jena
The SPECORD PLUS dual-beam spectrophotometer is a well-established Analytik Jena solution in UV/Vis technology. Combined with the ASpect UV base software and a wide range of dedicated tools, it supports a broad spectrum of customized analyses across chemistry, pharmaceuticals, medicine, food safety, environmental analysis, life sciences, and more. The modular, Windows-based software design enables intuitive and precise operation, tailored to different experience levels and application requirements. It ensures full control, monitoring, and documentation of all spectrophotometer processes, including accessories. Compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 and the European Pharmacopoeia 11 can be optionally supported.
Here you can find more information about SPECORD PLUS and the associated software. Or meet us at Laborama 360 at booth E6, of course.
