ISO 18127 officially published – important news for water analysis
12.03.26
The former DIN 38409-59 has been officially converted to ISO 18127, the new international standard for the determination of organically bound halogens (AOF, AOCl, AOBr, AOI) via combustion ion chromatography (CIC).
This harmonisation is an important step for laboratories involved in water analysis, quality control, and environmental research. Thanks to international standardisation, the reliability and comparability of AOF measurements will be significantly improved worldwide.
At Metrohm, we are particularly proud that our experts have actively contributed to the development of this new standard. Their expertise in CIC technology played an important role in the creation of this ISO standard, which was published in February.
Visitors to Laborama360 can explore this topic up close:
- We will bring an IC device to demonstrate its practical application
- We will be happy to explain the principle of combustion as a crucial step in the analysis
- Our PFAS/AOF expert will be on hand to answer questions and provide practical advice
